STWR will be present at the following events this September:

Put People First Day of Action: Friday 4th September:

  • The G20 Finance Ministers will be meeting in London on 4th September to discuss the financial crisis. As part of the Put People First! campaign platform, STWR will be taking part in a demonstration in central London to tell the G20: No More Business As Usual! We will be brandishing our large blue banner at the stunt and march in the morning, before attending an afternoon of stimulating talks and debate at the London School of Economics (LSE).

Urban Green Fair: Sunday 20th September:

  • STWR will have a stall in the ’social justice’ zone at the Urban Green Fair – an annual family event in Brockwell Park, London. This free outdoor festival is geared towards educating people about pressing environmental issues through films, talks, workshops, kids’ activities and stalls.

A Zero Growth Economy? Quakers Conference: Saturday 26th September:

  • We will also have a stall at the upcoming Quaker conference at Friends House, London. The conference will examine the relationship between economic growth, the environment and poverty alleviation. Confirmed speakers are Oxfam’s Duncan Green, economist Richard Douthwaite, author Alistair McIntosh, and Miriam Kennett from the Green Economics Institute.

If you would like to join us or volunteer at any of these events, please write us by e-mail.
