Dear members, Below is a compilation of requests for information sent to the Global Human Rights Education listserv during the past week. At the bottom of each request you will find an e-mail address, so that you can respond to the request directly.
1. SEEKING BOOKLETS AND BROCHURES EXPLAINING HUMAN RIGHTS AND EDUCATION OR HEALTH,
Dear colleagues, I would like to ask assistance to find samples of booklets and brochures (preferably in English) explaining in very simple language (for ordinary people) what do such combinations mean:
- -rights on education and human rights
- -rights on health and human rights.
Another option: we are also interested to locate experts who can help us to develop such a booklet (kind of universal type). We plan to have round table discussions in the regions, where we will raise these topics, and would like to distribute booklets before events. Thank you, Dr.Nargis Nurulla-Khojaeva, Director, Rights and Justice Foundation, Moscow, e-mail.
2. LOOKING FOR INFORMATION ON THE ACCREDITATION PROCESS TO DESIGNATE SCHOOLS AS ‘SCHOOLS OF PEACE’,
Dear Colleagues, I am a Teacher & Education Consultant working with Children’s Global Peace Project. CGPP teams work with teachers in primary, intermediate, middle & high schools throughout the world to help students create peace within themselves, peace with each other & understanding and communication with classrooms in other countries. We are looking for accreditation processes used to designate schools as “Schools of Peace”. If you know of any information about criteria, processes, or resources, please reply to the e-mail address below. Also, if you are interested in assisting CGPP in creating this process, please reply to the address below. Thank you for your assistance, Denise Janssen Eager, Teacher & Education Consultant, Children’s Global Peace Project, Website, e-mail. (Also linked with Children’s Global Peace Project cgpp.org).
3. LOOKING FOR HUMAN RIGHTS VIDEOS OR SHORT FILMS SUITABLE FOR TEENAGERS,
Dear colleagues, Our unit will speak at a human rights summit for teenagers in June, and we are looking for powerful and specific story oriented material that we can share with the teenagers on human rights. We are looking for short films or videos that you could recommend, something that will excite teenagers to become involved in their communities and beyond. I would be most grateful for any suggestions. Best regards, Nicola Brandt, Programme Officer, Gender and Rights Unit, Division of Policy and Practice, UNICEF, Phone: 212 326 7793, Fax: 212 735 4420, e-mail.
