Dear members, Below is a compilation of requests for information sent to the Global Human Rights Education listserv during the past week. At the bottom of each request you will find an e-mail address, so that you can respond to the request directly.
1. SEEKING VIDEOS AND OTHER RESOURCES ON RIGHTS OF IMMIGRANTS FOR HIGH SCHOOL CLASS
Dear Colleagues, I am a teacher in a New York City public high school and am looking to implement a unit on immigration and immigrants’ rights for my students. Could anyone suggest any resources, including videos that I could use in the classroom? Thank you for your time and help! Barbara Borgese, e-mail.
2. LOOKING FOR MATERIALS ON ORGANISATIONAL CHANGE THROUGH HUMAN RIGHTS
Dear Colleagues, I am currently writing a 12-week post-graduate subject on ‘Transforming organisations through applied human rights’. Our program is based in Australia, but I would be delighted to gather information from around the globe. Can anyone share some reading materials, activities or case studies that they may have developed in this topic area? Best regards, Liz, Dr. Elizabeth Branigan, Co-ordinator, Academic Programs, Australian Centre for Human Rights Education, RMIT University, Tel: 9925-3153, e-mail.
3. LOOKING FOR TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES ON HRE IN NON-FORMAL EDUCATION
Hello List members, I’m planning a summer student leadership camp with an emphasis on human rights (basic level). I do have some experience in organizing such educational events but want to further my knowledge. Is there any short (1 – 4 weeks) training I could take on HRE in non-formal education, or something related? Thanks, Koba Grdzelishvili, Junior Achievement Georgia, e-mail.
