1. LOOKING FOR PRIOR EXPERIENCE/MATERIALS FOR DEVELOPING AWARENESS PROJECTS FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES

Dear colleagues, My name is Joni Yulianto. I am a disabled person and am currently working with a local NGO of and for disabled people in Indonesia called SIGAB (Sasana Integrasi dan Advokasi Difabel) or “institute for integration and advocacy of disabled people”. We are now developing a plan of a human rights education project for young disabled people in Yogyakarta province, Indonesia. The project aims to improve awareness of disabled people regarding their rights and to support more participation and involvement of disabled people on the policy making process by the local government of Yogyakarta province, Indonesia. I am wondering if any of the list members have experience on similar projects or materials to develop this project plan. I also welcome any suggestions or information about funding agencies that might support such a project. With very best wishes, Joni.

3. LOOKING FOR EXAMPLES OF PROJECTS BASED ON MDG GOALS FOR EDUCATION AND HEALTH

My name is Pierrot Ngadi, a Congolese human rights activist living in Dublin. I am looking for good practices of projects related to the Millennium Development Goals, particularly related to education & health projects. I have met with some Irish members of the Senate who have also asked me to put something in writing that will help them make recommendations to the Irish Prime Minister for support. As you may be aware, in Congo education is not free for children despite UN recommendations, and health is a big problem as well. Look forward to hearing from you, Pierrot, Tel:00353866077738, E-mail.

4. SEEKING RESEARCH, TRAINING MATERIALS ON SELF-PROTECTION AND RESISTANCE BY WOMEN’S ORGANISATIONS

Hello all, My name is Jodie Lea Martire and I’m planning a research project on self-protection and resistance initiatives, designed by women’s groups operating under conditions of political or social repression. I’m looking for research projects on this issue, or training materials, which may have been devised (such as the guide “Self-care and Self-defense of feminist activists”, published in English by CREA, Artemisa and ELIGE). I’m particularly interested in materials which deal with a Latin American context. Many thanks, Jodie Lea Martire, E-mail.
